Adhesives, Grouts & Sealants

It is crucial to choose the right kind of adhesives, grouts and sealants for your natural stone floor, especially with the growing popularity of under floor heating.

Boniti recommends the correct use of expansion joints for large floor and wall areas, especially under door thresholds. The use of flexible sub matting, such as Schluter Ditra, is also recommended in certain applications. Maintenance

As with wooden floors, the level of maintenance and therefore the overall ‘look’ of the floor is up to you. However, to keep your natural stone floor looking pristine, it is important to take regular care to ensure you enjoy it for years to come.

At Boniti we recommend you use a range of care and maintenance products called Lithofin by a company called Extensive Ltd.

Extensive Ltd are the UK’s most experienced distributors of stone cleaning, sealing and maintenance products. Not only do they have a long track record of advising commercial & domestic clients, but they also provide invaluable FREE advice on maintaining and protecting your stone.

Below are some basic guidelines for maintaining your Boniti stone using their products:

Regular cleaning

For regular weekly cleaning we recommend you use Easy Care – simply add one squeeze to a normal size bucket of water and mop in the normal way; this product can be used as often as you wish.

Important! Never use standard household cleaners or detergents to clean your Boniti stone floor as these cause damage.

Stubborn cleaning

To remove individual stubborn marks, such as shoe rubber, we recommend you use Wexa Multi-purpose Cleaner. Wexa can be used diluted 1:1 with water. Use either a scrubbing brush or green nylon scrubbing pad. Clean only whole tiles and rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Important! Undiluted, Wexa will strip away surface sealants such as Multi-seal, which will then need replacing.

Deep cleaning

Every two to three months your floor is likely to require a more thorough clean. We recommend that you use Wexa Multi-purpose cleaner diluted 1:10. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Important! Avoid using Wexa more than once a month.
